Area of Isolation
Another important factor for helping the Institute logos stand out is maintaining an “area of isolation” around the logo. An “area of isolation” helps eliminate any confusion that may result when other logos or product names are included on your communications efforts. An easy guide is to measure the width of the rule below the signature to determine the amount of isolation area needed. Then add an equivalent amount of space to all four sides of the logo at its widest point. The AEI logo is used here as an example and it should be noted that the widest point of this logo is the word Architectural in the signature. These standards apply to all the Institute logos with or without the signature.
